Sample type is vital for diagnosing infection with peste des petits ruminants virus by reverse transcription PCR

چکیده
Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) diagnosis from suspected samples from sheep and goats was carried out. Buffy coat, tissues, and oculo-nasal swabs were analyzed using nucleoprotein (NP3/NP4) and fusion protein (F1/F2) gene primers, respectively. Analysis of the sample types and primer set revealed that buffy coat are the best type of samples for PPR diagnosis and the use of two set of primers will increase the number of positives.

Cloning of fusion (F) protein gene of peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV) in secretory Pichia pastoris vector
With advent and development of DNA recombinant technology and advantages of p. pastoris expression system, fusion (F) protein of PPRV expression, because of effective immunodominant role could be an appropriate candidate for production of recombinant vaccine against PPR disease. In this study, F gene of PPRV Nigeria 75/1 strain (1637 bp) was amplified using RT-PCR and purified. It was then cl...

Interest in peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV) has been stimulated by recent changes in its host and geographic distribution. For this study, biological specimens were collected from camels, sheep, and goats clinically suspected of having PPRV infection in Sudan during 2000-2009 and from sheep soon after the first reported outbreaks in Morocco in 2008. Reverse transcription PCR analysis co...
متن کاملPeste des petits ruminants outbreaks in White Nile State, Sudan.
Eight outbreaks of peste des petits ruminants in sheep and goats were reported in White Nile State, Sudan, between 2008 and 2009. A mortality rate of 4.2% was reported across the different outbreaks. Clinically the disease was characterised by high fever, ocular and nasal discharge, pneumonia, ulceration of the mucous membranes, diarrhoea and death. The postmortem findings included necrotic les...

AIM We describe a laboratory investigation carried out to confirm the etiology of the heavy mortality (37 animals died out of total 44, i.e. 84%) in goats in Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya, Northeast region of India in December 2015. The clinical signs observed were abortion, diarrhea, high fever (up to 104°F), pox lesion in the skin, and respiratory distress. MATERIALS AND METHODS The samples...
متن کاملDetection and Genome Analysis of a Lineage III Peste Des Petits Ruminants Virus in Kenya in 2011.
In May 2011 in Turkana County, north-western Kenya, tissue samples were collected from goats suspected of having died of peste des petits ruminant (PPR) disease, an acute viral disease of small ruminants. The samples were processed and tested by reverse transcriptase PCR for the presence of PPR viral RNA. The positive samples were sequenced and identified as belonging to peste des petits rumina...
